The SBMU Central Library Specialized Council
In 2007, the SBMU Central Library Specialized Council began its mission in order to participate in developing the specialized scientific outlines and determining the global activities of the SBMU Central Library and the affiliated ones in line with the SBMU global policies.
The establishment of the Council had occurred in order to encourage the SBMU affiliated libraries to empower the academic staff, researchers, students, and the personnel, as well as providing facilities for performing researches.
The Members of the SBMU Central Library Council include the representative of the SBMU Vice-Chancellor in Research Affairs, the Director of the SBMU Central Library, the deputy-in-Charge of the SBMU Central Library, as well as three members from the libraries of the SBMU research centers, educational hospitals, and schools.
Note: the members of the SBMU Central Library Council are appointed by the decree of the SBMU Vice-Chancellor in Academic Affairs for a two-year period.
The goal of the establishment of the SBMU Central Library Specialized Council has been to develop and expand all SBMU affiliated libraries both qualitatively and quantitatively.
The Tasks of the SBMU Central Library Specialized Council:
Participating in regulating and reviewing the statute and rules of the SBMU affiliated library in necessary cases;
Establishing and publishing SBMU Centarl Library New-letter;
Supervising the initiation and development of the workshops held for the librarians, academic staff, students, and all SBMU users;
Collaborating as the consulting body in performing research projects approved by the SBMU;
Holding monthly sessions for evaluating the tasks submitted by the SBMU Office of Vice-Chancellor in Research affairs;
Planning and participating in the meetings, conferences, and festivals related to librarianship and informatics;
Evaluating and visiting the SBMU affiliated libraries in order to develop the facilities and machinery both qualitatively and quantitatively;
