Department of Biotechnology was first established in 2007 in SBMU School of Medicine. The department was transferred to the School of Advanced Technologies in Medicine in 2013 in order to further enhance the integration of advanced disciplines in the school. The department offers PhD programs in Medical Biotechnology and Molecular Medicine and aims to conduct high quality research and education to improve human health. Development of novel biopharmaceuticals and application of the next generation technologies for the diagnostics and treatment of human diseases are the main priorities of the department.
